The only mode accessible in the free version in Fortnite when I started, so I'll just tell you a little more and help you improve in the multiplayer mode where it lands at 100 on the map and where the goal is to finish alone to achieve victory. Attention, other modes are emerging, but I'm only talking about Battle Royale, even if in the idea, the advice and tips that I give are also valid. Of course, we can hide in the back of a house, wait patiently for everyone to kill each other, and hope for a stroke of luck, kill the last player to win, but he will then have recovered the best weapons. of the game, will have its armor at 100 and will inevitably be very difficult to beat. So, it is better to start at the beginning of the game to do things correctly, in the right direction, and to prepare for the ultimate fight if you want to have a good chance of winning. And there, some tips and advice are not too much, because it takes time to fully understand how everything works and succeed in winning.
Of course, reading this you might be thinking, I'm one of the best at Call Of Duty or Battlefield, so even with a knife, I'll have it. But no, the gameplay is resolutely arcade and it's not easy to learn, so it's better to have killer stuff than to bet everything on its strength in FPS, that's for sure. For those who don't know the game, the gameplay is very similar to all quake-likes or even, more recently, to a certain Batman Arkham Origins, also free a few years ago. Where to jump at the start and how to get off to a good start
At the very beginning of the game, you will find yourself with the other 100 players on the bus that takes you to the map. Note that there is only one and it will be important for you to spot it well in order to know where to jump in the future. So from the beginning, you have time before you can jump, open the map and start by finding the landing point that suits you while keeping in mind that the places with names on the map will be the ones that will be the most supplied in loot, but also those which attract the most players. As soon as this is done, wait to be as high as possible and descend steeply as quickly as possible. It is essential to be the fastest so as not to be a few seconds behind. It doesn't seem like much, but it can influence the rest of the game, especially if several of you land on a house or small neighborhood. Before landing, take the time to take a look around you to know where the players are landing near you, this will be useful for you later.
Then you have to land, therefore prefer to land on the roof of a building, a warehouse or a house, the chests containing the best weapons and the best stuff are often in the attics and on the top floors. They can also be found in towers or in cellars, but these appear randomly, so it is safest to find them in the attics of houses in cities or even isolated ones. From there, continue by searching the places around you in order to continue to equip yourself and remember to destroy walls in order to recover materials to help you in the rest of the game. Wood, stone, and metal will allow you to have access to inaccessible places, but also to protect you from others when you meet them.
Attention, so that the game ends, you will quickly understand that a storm appears in each game. This shrinks over time and forces you to refocus in a corner of the map. Imagine if this were not the case, how would two players intersect in the end with the size of the map? Thus, it shrinks by lapse of time, everything is indicated. Remember to always join the white circle so as not to be surprised by the storm which is distinguished by its purple color. Don't be in the eye of the storm and you'll quickly lose your hit points, so be careful.
Arms
The weapons are not all effective at the same time and are not all equally powerful. There is thus a very specific type of weapon for close combat, another for distant combat, etc. But that doesn't surprise you, I'm sure. Also note that each weapon has different classes and the more the weapon has a high class, the more powerful and useful it is. Classes are designated by color.

Purple: Epic
Orange: Legendary
Thus, the color plays on the power but also plays on the precision and the reloading time. You will have understood it, you will shoot better with a blue weapon than with a white one. Likewise, it will be more powerful and you will recharge faster. Note that if you want purple or orange weapons, the best is to succeed in getting packages that fall from the sky. There are several per game and these are generously well endowed. I will tell you about it at the end of this article.
The different types of weapons
I told you before, there are different types of weapons that you have to use wisely, so here are these different types and how to use them.
Assault rifles: They are useful at medium range, but are the most versatile in the game. So, from near and far, they can be useful to you. If you had to have only one weapon in a game, it would be this one, even if it is beaten up close by shotguns or submachine guns and from afar by snipers. It can still get away with it in almost any situation, so plan to always have one with you.
Shotguns: Shotguns are the weapon of choice whenever you have a close fight waiting for you. However, these have a limited amount of bullets in the magazine, so if you run out of magazines, don't waste your time reloading and switch weapons immediately.
Submachine guns: Very effective in many games, submachine guns are, in Fortnite, almost useless. Indeed, these do not benefit from very interesting damage, so you will have little chance of winning a fight with her if your opponent has a shotgun for example. If you don't have a shotgun for close combat, prefer a submachine gun, but otherwise, don't bother unnecessarily.
Sniper rifles: The sniper is a flagship rifle in the game, especially with an AWP that allows one shot against any opponent who does not have a shield. However, it is very difficult to learn, but at the end of the game, it could well be essential to you. Attention, there is no sniper below the blue rarity.
Launchers: Launchers (grenade launcher or rocket launcher) are, like snipers, accessible only from the blue rarity and allow one-shot. However, they are very hard to find and their ammunition is very limited. If you are lucky enough to find one, you will have fun, it is difficult to dodge and you can surprise your enemies easily.
Pistols: Pistols, whether with a silencer or a revolver, are very weak weapons in the game, so I advise you not to use them and even bother with them. Of course, if you only have this at the start of the game, do with it, but look for a better weapon as soon as possible.
The pickaxe: So there, it's really if you get attacked by a player while landing, otherwise you can forget. With its 11 points of damage per hit, you will lose if the other does not have the pickaxe as well. And again, to win, be one step ahead, think about it. Better to run away in general, because life points are not necessarily easily recovered in Fortnite.
Traps: Traps can be very useful, especially at the start of the game. Leave the door closed and you can be sure that a player will come to visit. If he has no armor, you will have killed one more.
The different healing and protection bonuses
They are not numerous in Fortnite, but they are essential for all players who intend to go beyond their first fight. Thus, it is possible to find bandages and first aid kits, as well as armor potions. Note that it takes time to be able to benefit from the benefits of these items, so remember to hide so as not to be disturbed during this time.
First aid bandage: This allows you to recover life for each item used. However, you are limited to recovering 75% of your health bar. Beyond that, they no longer work.
Health Kit: Health kits allow you to heal up to 100% of your original life bar, or 100 HP.
A small portion of armor: These give you 25 additional HP, but you are, as with healing, limited. And yes, you will only be able to take 50% armor.
Large Armor Potion: These give you 50 HP and allow you to fill your armor gauge to 100%, they are essential!
Some tips and tricks to avoid losing quickly
You now know what is most important to know to play Fortnite well, but here are some more tips to improve and hope to win.
Be discreet, don't run anywhere, you leave traces visible from afar.
Avoid moving in the open on the map.
Destroy and collect materials at first, it's very noisy and you'll get spotted quickly.
Use the bushes to hide and not be spotted.
Get up high to spot other players and shoot them down.
Take the time before immediately jumping off the bus when you are not an expert.
play with headphones and pay attention to other people's noises.
Doors and chests make noise when they open and betray you.
Tires and fire hydrants can propel you into the air, use them.
Consider setting traps when hiding in a house.
Remember to close the doors when you enter somewhere, the noise at the opening will signal the arrival of another.
Watch out for falls, they can be deadly.
An opponent in height can die simply by falling, think of it to eliminate them.
the sniper is great, but you really have to know how to aim.
Remember to create walls and constructions when you are attacked, it's better than just face to face.
Watch for the drops of packages materialized by blue smoke on the ground and a more or less loud sound depending on whether it is close to you or not.
