   ! Congratulations to the Dobson Trail's  50th Anniversary !

The Dobson Trail is a 58.3 kilometer footpath that starts on Pine Glen Road in Riverview, New Brunswick and continues through the Albert County Caledonia Highlands to the eastern Boundary of Fundy National Park. The Trail was scouted out in 1959 by Dr Art Dobson. The Dobson Trail celebrates it's 50th Anniversary in 2009! The Trail is maintained by volunteers of the Dobson Trail Committee, the Fundy Hiking Trail Association Inc.

The first 3 kilometres of the trail bed are maintained to Park standards, and are wheel chair accessible. The initial section also has a guide wire for the visually challenged. The remaining section is maintained to Appalachian Trail Standards. The trail can be hiked in three days. There is also a one day thru- hike organised each year, usually in mid June. The trail is used in all seasons by hikers, snowshoers, and backcountry skiers.

A long hike of 115 kilometers from Riverview, through the Fundy National Park Trail System and the Fundy Footpath will bring you to the Big Salmon River near St Martin's N.B.

'On Foot to Fundy' is the Hiker's Guide Book , it includes a topo map of the hiking trail and directions to the numerous access points.
